Devils Thumb Ranch Resort in Tabernash, Colorado (located inside Grand County) is a wonderful wedding venue! One of my favorite things about this location, besides the amazing views and end of the road seclusion, is how green they are! I am all about conserve resources, and so are they. Devils Thumb Ranch Resort and Spa even won an EPA Award for Responsible Development & Historic Preservation! Something I was surprised to learn about was that many of their buildings are heated with radiant heat that actually uses the underground geothermal water that is below the resort.
Obviously they use solar energy to power and heat multiple building (there are a lot of solar panels on the property). They also sell only locally grown meats, I absolutely love their Wagyu beef burgers! Their locally bought chocolate chip marshmallows are also awesome in their s’mores! By the way, if you haven’t been to Heck’s Tavern for their complimentary s’mores after dinner you are missing out! Here is a little known fact, the hexagonal room that houses Heck’s is actually a replication of a room in one of our country’s national monuments, The Timberline Lodge located at the base of Mt. Hood, Oregon. Heck’s is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner – I highly recommend dining there!
